one The first Bond movie I ever saw was Quantum of Solace. A friend had organized a group to go and then all but one annoying person bailed on them, so I went with to help alleviate the situation. Two weeks later I watched Casino Royale while cuddling a newborn. For Christmas a couple of years back I bought B the 50th anniversary Blue Ray set and since moving to SoCal, we’ve been working our way through all the movies. So when we got the opportunity to see Spectre on opening night at the Chinese Theater, we had to take it. And it was so good.
two I started a book yesterday during all my breaks, and so far I’m 250 pages in. I hadn’t picked one up in awhile. I’m not sure why I go on such binges with reading, but I really struggle with either obsessively reading every second or not touching a book for weeks. Balance apparently isn’t my thing.
three There’s something about teaching my first Christmas sigh of the year that really kicks nostalgia into high gear. As a kid, we always started Christmas songs early so they’d be ready for recitals. Now, as a teacher, I love when I can break them out and spread that joy. Add in the early evenings and cooler weather and it feels like the holidays already.
four I am less than 24 hours from my first weekend in I don’t know how long. I still can’t believe I set my schedule up so poorly, but it’s finally about to be fixed. I ended up teaching every day this week for the transition, which was less than fun. Mostly because there weren’t many lessons on each day so I got caught in traffic a lot. But, I don’t have to go in on Monday and that is super exciting to me.
five Loki probably likes the new schedule the least of all of us. He doesn’t get why someone is sleeping almost all of the time. He doesn’t get why B keeps leaving at night. He’s a very grumpy puppy right now. Luckily he’s also a very good puppy and doesn’t totally hate us for the chaos he’s living with right now.
