I should have learned by now in my life not to tempt fate. That last post if mine? Such a bad idea.
Our flight out of Baltimore ended up delayed almost 8 hours. The baggage handlers left my dogs on the Tarmac in the freezing rain for three hours. I had to physically stop a gate agent to get it resolved and she never came back to say anything. We sat on the plane for hours (they offered to let us off, but most of us stayed) and of course there were no hotels in Atlanta.
It was an utter disaster of a trip. First we had no pilots, than the plane had to be deiced twice, then we has a flight control sensor failure, then we had to wait for the gas truck, then we had to deice the plane again, then we finally got to Atlanta and they wouldn’t let us see the dogs. If it could go wrong, it did.
We finally landed in San Antonio a good 12 hours after we were supposed to from that flight. And of course immediately went and purchased a car:
We also got out phones while waiting for them to get my car ready. By the time we got home to my parents we were dead tired. Thankfully the dogs were okay. And with any luck we’ll never have to fly with them again. But the best part? In spite of all the tribulations, we finally made it home.
