Blazing Trails

Continuing on my theme of bloging about the things that could be negatives but have turned into positives I figured I’d bring up my car sitchenario. It’s been an up and down thing with lots of crazy changes.

About three months ago, one of my cuzzykins (cousins for those of you without cuzzykins and lacking knowledge of how wonderful they are) asked if I would be interested in taking her old MB sedan. I said yes and we set about prepping to change over the title. It got delayed several times and finally back at my birthday I went to the office to make the transfer. Only to be told that she couldn’t give it to me because she isn’t a close enough relative. So I was going to have to pay taxes. And get several other documents before they’d let me even do the transfer. I gave up. Two weeks later my dad walked in and out with the new title in his name for less than a third of what they had told me I’d have to pay.

Of course the Merc isn’t running right now. And my dad hasn’t been happy with it. So he doesn’t want me to take it.

Just last week I reserved my trailer to haul my stuff to ND. I went on uhaul’s website, entered my car stats and reserved the trailer they told me to. I also copied down the hitch info so I could buy the right one. And then my dad tells me on Saturday that my car won’t actually tow the trailer. I mean it will, but by the time I get in my car I’ll be over the weight limit. And I don’t weigh that much.

So, they are giving me, title and all, their old Chevy Blazer. It has a hitch, new tires, a/c and will tow my trailer easily. Not to mention that I can cut my insurance by quite a bit. And then do whatever I want with the car when te time comes.

And to think that my mom was worried I would be upset. I’m far from it.

About texancountess

I find myself in the calming roar of the sea, floating gently on the foam of the breaking waves. Blue. Green. Gray. The colors of the sea mark the boundaries of my soul. The tumbled glass finds its polish under the relentless pounding of the waves upon the shore. Thus am I. Rough transitioning to polish, refinement ever a process, finding my niche in the storms of life.
