Two new jobs. Both involve teaching music to children, but that’s about all they share. One job will be teaching private piano lessons to prep school students. The other involves teaching group strings classes to underpriviledged youth. But they share the opportunity to touch lives through music.
Time spent in a yarn shop. I love yarn. I love imagining the possibilities…to be realized by my mother, not me. I love all the colors, the textures, the quirks. The people in yarn shops are generally happy, helpful people too.
Tickle fights. Even when I lose. Or maybe, especially when I lose.
Last days of work. I love the closure. I love the week off before the next job starts.
My own bed. House-sitting has been nice, but, I cannot wait to sleep in my own bed again.
Late night jazz gigs. Hearing friends perform and realize that we are no longer the future of music. We are the music of now. Crazy.
Friends. They really do make the world go round.
