What does it mean to you?

Veterans Day.

A day when we are supposed to stop and thank those who have served in the armed forces.

A day when we are supposed to remember those who have died.

A day when we are supposed to remember those who have lived.

A day, one of many, when they do their job and duty.

A day, one of few, when most stop and think of the cost.

A day to celebrate.

A day to mourn.

A day to remember.

A day of names.

A day of gratitude.

To all of my friends, family members and strangers who have served or are serving: My love and prayers are with you daily. I can never truly thank you for what you have given me and others. You are my inspiration and heroes. While it will never be enough, I thank you.

About texancountess

I find myself in the calming roar of the sea, floating gently on the foam of the breaking waves. Blue. Green. Gray. The colors of the sea mark the boundaries of my soul. The tumbled glass finds its polish under the relentless pounding of the waves upon the shore. Thus am I. Rough transitioning to polish, refinement ever a process, finding my niche in the storms of life.
